Air to Water Heating (EHS)

 

Samsung’s Air to Water Heating Systems use efficient
heat pump technology to deliver supreme comfort and low operating costs.
They provide various combinations of air and water solutions,
so you can satisfy your specific climate needs year-round.

If you are considering a heat pump for your house

  • RHI will cover retrofit and self builds only, NOT new builds, BUT if a new build has a heat pump retrofitted after the first owner moves in it will be covered by RHI.
  • Applicants wanting to claim for RHI will need an Energy performance certificate completed before any renewables are installed. The energy performance certificate is what will determine how much RHI you are eligible for. You will not be paid for exact kWh used, even if a meter is installed.
  • Both the installation and the installer will have to be MCS registered.
  • The RHPP (one off payment) is no longer available for new installations.
  • The RHI will only cover systems considered to be highly efficient; all installations of heat pumps need to reach an average seasonal efficiency SPF of above 2.5. Luckily MCS governs this for us and gives the installer guidelines on how to achieve this, a star rating is used to make life simple and your system will have to achieve a star rating of more than 3 to qualify for RHI.
  • You can only have RHI for one thermal technology + solar thermal hot water. If you are consider a selection of heat technologies your installer will advise which one is best to claim the RHI on.
  • Bi Valent or Hybrid systems will be allowed if a heat meter is installed, in this case you will only get rhi for the renewable heat provided not the bit the fossil fuel boiler covers. This will be estimated by the installer for you.
  • You will have to have an annual maintenance regime in place to get RHI and you will have to declare that nothing has changed to continue getting payments.
  • There is an optional metering and monitoring package available on all heat pump systems. If one of these systems are installed you will receive an extra £230 on top of your RHI payments.

Example of how much your customers get

Customers with an air source heat pump will receive 10.49 pence p/kWhr of renewable heat provided into the house. This means that an average 3 bedroom semi-detached house would receive around £1000 a year and a bigger detached house would get approximately £1400 a year.

What Samsung EHS are doing to help?

Here at Samsung EHS we have designed a simple estimator, this will work give an estimation of the RHI payments for your house. It is not exact but can be used as a guideline. It can be downloaded here and is free of charge
