Heat Pump Training Morning Session
An Introduction to Heat Pumps; How and Where to Sell Them, How to Design and Specify a System, Carry out the Survey and What’s Involved in the Installation.
This course is ideal for developers, builders and installers thinking of starting in heat pumps and also anyone who wants a really detailed introduction to this technology.
We begin this part of the course by covering what a heat pump is, where it works best and what to avoid. We discuss working out return on investment as well as giving budget costings. How to size and select heat pumps, cylinders and radiators to MIS 3005 standard, what is involved in a survey and how to prepare a quotation including the run costs and RHI calculations. Using our excel based heat pump selection software is a big part of this course. We also advise how to cut through the myths surrounding this technology.
We then move on to discussing how the system goes together and explain what you need to quote and allow for on all systems including hybrid, multiple units and pool heating.
And finally we will show you running systems and the difference between our Hitachi, Samsung and Clausius ranges and advise which suits your project.
We ask that if you have a current project you bring drawings with you for this course.
Heat Pump Training Afternoon Session
Installing, Commissioning, Servicing and Fault Finding Hitachi and Samsung heat pumps
This part of the course is ideal for new and experienced installers, F-gas engineers and Heating Engineers. Its designed for the people who actually fit and fix the units.
We begin this part of the course with an introduction to the systems and how they need to be installed correctly to get the best out of them. We have a couple of running systems which we will ask you to set up and commission. This is the first stage of becoming an accredited Freedom Heat Pumps installer for Samsung or Hitachi equipment. It is highly recommended that you attend this part if this is your first heat pump job.
We then finish by concentrating on more advanced fault finding and show the most common errors you will find out in the field. You will test compressors, refrigerant circuits, measure unit’s performance, test every sensor and much more.
You will be set a series of practical tests to fix problems on out units which you would typically see on site.
